Lana Del Rey has said how she wishes she was “dead already” and that the pressures of fame and success had made her become disillusioned.
Speaking to The Guardian, Lana gave a not-exactly ‘uplifting’ insight into her state of mind, saying that: “I don’t want to have to keep doing this. But I am… That’s just how I feel. If it wasn’t that way, then I wouldn’t say it.”
The ‘Born To Die’ singer (hmmm) also told the paper that her inspirations were Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse – both of whom died at the tragically young age of 27 – and that she saw some degree of glamour in dying early, saying “I wish I was dead already”.
She went on to say: “Family members will come on the road with me and say: ‘Wow, your life is just like a movie!’ – and I’m like: ‘Yeah, a really f***ed-up movie’.”
The in-demand wedding singer said that she first felt like this when her debut single, ‘Video Games’ become an international hit, and that she felt like she wasn’t able to enjoy any of it’s success.
“I never felt any of the enjoyment,” she said. “It was all bad, all of it.”
